How do I choose my Podo color/Shipping address?

After the conclusion of the campaign, we’ll send a survey asking for your information! We may do this closer to August, so there is less risk of your address changing before we ship our products out. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

When will my credit card be charged?

On April 20 when the campaign concludes. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:38 pm EST

Are there any additional charges (shipping, taxes, software etc.) after the campaign is over?

Nope! We will ensure your country’s import taxes are paid for and Podo will arrive at your door properly. We will ask you for your shipping address closer to the ship date in August, so that there is less chance you change your address. The app will also be free for download! Last updated: Tue, Mar 3 2015 7:03 pm EST

Can I ship Podos to multiple addresses?

No, on Kickstarter your reward will be shipped to one address which we will collect after the campaign. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

I’m an international backer, do I need to worry about customs charges?

Nope! We are shipping only to countries where we know the costs and pass regulations and local laws with our product. Any customs charges are included in the shipping price to your country. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:38 pm EST

How did you calculate shipping costs to my country?

The shipping costs includes air delivery from China (it only takes a week to get from our factory to your home!) and any VAT required by your country for the import of foreign goods. This VAT can be pretty expensive but it’s the law. We won’t be able to declare a value less than the price paid for Podo. But the good news is, we will act as the importer of record, so you don’t have to deal with any further fees or complaints with customs! Podo will arrive at your door ready to go. Why isn’t Podo available in my country?

The more demand we get across the world, the more locations we can open up for shipping! Believe us, we’re pushing our fulfillment partner hard. Please gather support from your friends and drop us a line! Last updated: Tue, Mar 3 2015 5:06 pm EST

How water resistant is Podo?

The only exposed part of the case is the micro-USB port, which is protected by a rubber plug. This helps Podo be water resistant but not water proof. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

Do I have to change the microsuction pad for each use?

Nope, that’s the point! The pad is reusable on a wide variety of surfaces. We do recommend wiping the pad clean with water between each use, as the pads will pick up dust that temporarily affects its stickiness. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

Will the camera stick to porous surfaces? Obviously it’ll stick to glass, and smooth wood, but will it stick to rough concrete and wood?

It does work on porous surfaces, but of course not as well. If you see the Tech Crunch video on our page, we stick it to concrete for a photo. On these surfaces, it will need to be cleaned with water after as it picks up more dust than normal. I also would not leave it there for more than a minute or so. What are the dimensions?

Case: 5 x 5 x 2.5 centimeters – 2 x 2 x 1 inches Weight: 50 grams -1.8 ounces Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

How long does one battery charge last for?

Podo will last up to 2 hours of recording. In time-lapse mode, Podo can take hundreds of pictures for over a week! When not in use, Podo can “sleep” for around 3 weeks. Podo takes about 2 hours to charge via included micro-USB cable. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:38 pm EST

Does Podo work when I don’t have service?

Yes! All you need is your smartphone and a Bluetooth connection, and Podo is good to go. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:34 pm EST

Do you accept returns?

Unfortunately we do not. But if you encounter any manufacturing defects with your Podo, we will be happy to repair or replace it at no cost. And if you have any other concerns, feel free to email us! Thank you for your understanding. Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:38 pm EST

What is the planned retail price for Podo?

Podo will retail for $99 later this fall. Backers are receiving the best price, and will get your units before anyone else! Last updated: Mon, Mar 2 2015 3:38 pm EST

I’m a distributor. How do I contact you?

Thank you for your interest. Please contact Jae at [email protected]! Last updated: Wed, Mar 11 2015 3:02 am EDT

Will Podo be used as a spying device?

Unfortunately bad people are out there, but we made design choices that make it difficult for Podo to be abused, especially compared to the spy cameras that already exist out there. The LEDs always stay on and indicate recording, the device is brightly colored and conspicuously shaped, and it works in Bluetooth range so the operator needs to be there. We’ll continue to take users’ feedback though so everyone can have fun and be comfortable with Podo! Last updated: Tue, Mar 3 2015 5:06 pm EST

Will there be a Windows version?

Right now we don’t have a Windows developer, but perhaps as a stretch goal we will be able to add one! Last updated: Tue, Mar 3 2015 5:06 pm EST

Can I see more sample images?

Check out our Flickr (www.flickr.com/podolabs) where we’ll be posting sample images! As we continue to raise funds and grow until our delivery, we’ll work hard on tuning our software to improve your images. Last updated: Mon, Mar 9 2015 3:28 pm EDT

What is the maximum range between the phone and Podo?

We use a Class 2 Bluetooth chip, meaning it is rated to work up to 10 meters (30 feet). Last updated: Thu, Mar 5 2015 1:14 am EST

Can I connect more than one Podo to one phone?

Currently it’s one Podo to one phone, but we are working to develop a way to connect multiple for more creative possibilities. Last updated: Mon, Mar 9 2015 3:28 pm EDT

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
